Last week, the Vietnam Private Economic Forum 2019 took place at the National Convention Center in Hanoi, with the participation of Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc.
The forum officially entered its plenary session on the afternoon of May 2nd, following seven thematic workshops. This time, the Government and the Central Economic Committee co-chaired and directed the forum's organization with the theme "Developing Vietnam's private economy into an important driving force of the socialist-oriented market economy according to Resolution 10-NQ/TW of the 5th Plenum of the 12th Central Committee and Resolution 98-NQ/CP of the Government".
Compared to previous sessions, this dialogue session is more important and larger in scale, with the participation of Central Party officials including:
– Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc
– Member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party, Head of the Central Economic Committee: Nguyen Van Binh
– Member of the Politburo, Standing Deputy Prime Minister: Truong Hoa Binh
– Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly: Phung Quoc Hien
– Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front: Tran Thanh Man
– President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor: Bui Van Cuong
– Leaders of ministries, departments, and localities
Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc delivered a speech at the Forum.
In addition, representatives from associations, industries, and large enterprises such as Vietjet Air, VinFast (a car manufacturing and trading brand), TH Group, and 2.500 other businesses also participated in this dialogue session. Notably, the exhibition area was particularly vibrant with over 30 booths showcasing diverse fields from major corporations and brands such as Agribank, BIM Group, Grab, TTC, MXP, VinFast, etc.
Based on the forum's theme, the Central Economic Committee focused on emphasizing three major objectives:
One is, Reviewing the results of implementing Resolution 10 of the 5th Central Committee Conference and Resolution 98-NQ/CP of the Government from the previous two years, we will identify tasks that have been done well to continue developing, as well as tasks that have not been done well and find alternative solutions;
Secondly, To firmly grasp the Party's viewpoints and guidelines and raise public awareness of the role and position of the private economy in the cause of socio-economic development, national construction and defense;
Third, To create conditions for agencies, organizations, and private entrepreneurs to engage in dialogue, offer suggestions, and propose recommendations to the Party and the State on mechanisms, policies, and solutions to improve the business environment and support the development of the private economy.
