Checking the status and results of a business dissolution is a crucial step to ensure the dissolution process is carried out in accordance with legal regulations and to verify whether the business has officially ceased to exist.
Below are detailed instructions on three ways to check the status and results of business dissolution in Vietnam.
1. Search through the National Business Registration Portal.
The National Business Registration Portal (https://dangkykinh doanh.gov.vn/vn/Pages/Trangchu.aspx) is the official channel for searching business information, including dissolution status.
Implementation Guide:
- Step 1Access the website https://dangkykinhdoanh.gov.vn/vn/Pages/Trangchu.aspx
- Step 2Enter the business name or business registration number into the search bar to look up the business status information.

2. Look up dissolved businesses on the General Department of Taxation's electronic portal.
A business can only be dissolved after fulfilling its tax obligations. Therefore, checking the tax status is an indirect way to confirm the dissolution process.
- Step 1: Access the page Taxpayer information lookup (https://tracuunnt.gdt.gov.vn/tcnnt/mstdn.jsp) of the Tax Authority's Electronic Information Portal.
- Step 2Enter the tax identification number into the search bar (tax identification number and verification code).

3. Check directly with the tax authorities.
If the information channels above do not accurately display the dissolution status of the business, you can check directly as follows:
Contact the tax authorities.:
- Call or visit the local tax office (before July 1, 2025, this would be the District Tax Office or the Provincial Tax Department) that manages your business's tax to check your tax status, dissolution status, or tax code deactivation.
- Please prepare your Business Registration Certificate and Citizen Identification Card (or Passport for foreigners) to receive assistance.
The three methods mentioned above not only help determine the dissolution status but are also used to check the status of a business in cases such as "not operating at the registered address," "tax identification number locked," or "ceased operations but has not yet completed the tax identification number closure."
