According to Resolution 17/2022/UBTVQH15 on the number of overtime hours per year and per month for employees in the context of COVID-19 prevention and control and socio-economic recovery and development, the details are as follows:
1. Employers, with the need and consent of the employee, may require employees to work overtime for more than 200 hours, but not exceeding 300 hours in a year., except for the following cases:
+ Workers aged 15 to under 18 years old;
+ Workers with mild disabilities resulting in a 51% or greater reduction in working capacity, severe disabilities, or exceptionally severe disabilities are eligible for this special disability program.
+ Workers engaged in strenuous, hazardous, or particularly strenuous or hazardous occupations or jobs;
+ Pregnant female workers from the 7th month of pregnancy, or from the 6th month if working in mountainous, remote, border, or island areas;
+ Female workers who are raising children under 12 months old.
Effective date: January 1, 2022
2. Employers are allowed to employ workers for a maximum of 300 overtime hours per year. If needed and with the employee's consent, they may employ workers for more than 40 overtime hours per month, but not exceeding 60 hours per month.

3. When an organization allows overtime work to exceed 200 hours but not exceed 300 hours in a year as stipulated in Clause 1, Article 1 of the Resolution, the employer must notify the state management agency for labor under the Provincial People's Committee.
Note: The above overtime rates are valid until December 31, 2022, unless extended by the National Assembly.
