The tax identification number (TIN) status indicates whether a business is operating normally, temporarily suspended, in the process of closing its TIN, or has terminated its validity. This information should be checked before signing contracts, before receiving invoices, and for regular monitoring of your business. This article guides you on how to look up TIN through four official channels.
Look up your tax return via the eTax Mobile app.
eTax Mobile is the official electronic tax application of the tax authority.This allows you to look up your tax identification number status directly on your phone. The data is synchronized with the tax authority's data system.
- Download and install eTax Mobile from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android). Please make sure to select the correct application issued by the tax authority.
- Open the app and log in. Use your eTax Mobile account or VNeID account.
- Select the "Utilities" option. select function "Look up taxpayer information".
- Enter the business's tax identification number. You need to check the same verification code, then click "Search".
- Read the results: The application displays the taxpayer's name, the tax authority in charge, the date the tax identification number was issued, and the legal status.
Check on the tax authority's electronic portal.
- Access to taxpayer information lookup page at tracuunnt.gdt.gov.vn.
- Enter the business's tax identification number. Use the captcha verification code displayed on the screen, then click Search.
- Read the "MST Status" column. In the results table — this is where the system records the tax identification number status of the business.
Look it up on the National Business Registration Portal.
- Access to trang dangkykinhdoanh.gov.vn.
- Enter the business name or business tax code. Enter your search query into the search bar, then select the business from the list of results.
- Read the "Operating Status" box. in the company's details page.
Check directly with the tax authorities.

- Contact the tax authority that directly manages your business. Contact by phone or visit in person to check the status of the tax identification number, tax liability status, and related decisions such as locking or restoring the tax identification number. (Before July 1, 2025, the managing unit was the Tax Sub-department or Tax Department under the old model.)
