The three tax offices will remain unchanged after the establishment of Thu Duc City.

To avoid impacting state budget revenue collection and to ensure smooth operation and direction of tax management, the Ministry of Finance requests that the current operations and organizational structure of the three Tax Sub-departments remain unchanged for the time being. These include the Tax Sub-departments of District 2, District 9, and Thu Duc District under the Ho Chi Minh City Tax Department, to manage tax collection in the wards of Thu Duc City.

The tax administration scope of the Sub-departments is as follows:

• District 2 Tax Office: An Khánh, An Lợi Đông, An Phú, Bình Trưng Đông, Bình Trưng Tây, Cát Lái, Thảo Điền, Thạnh Mỹ Lợi and Thủ Thiêm wards.
• District 9 Tax Office: Hiep Phu, Long Binh, Long Phuoc, Long Thanh My, Long Truong, Phu Huu, Phuoc Binh, Phuoc Long A, Phuoc Long B, Tang Nhon Phu A, Tang Nhon Phu B, Tan Phu and Truong Thanh wards.
• Thu Duc District Tax Office: Binh Chieu, Binh Tho, Hiep Binh Chanh, Binh Phuoc, Linh Chieu, Linh Dong, Linh Tay, Linh Trung, Linh Xuan, Tam Binh, Tam Phu and Truong Tho wards.

Furthermore, the Director General of the General Department of Taxation also instructed the Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Tax Department to assign one tax branch as the focal point to consolidate the overall tax management situation when managing three tax branches, and to appoint a leader of the tax department to be in charge of, manage, and coordinate with functional units of Thu Duc City to carry out tasks related to tax management in the area. The focal point unit is responsible for reporting on the tax collection management activities in Thu Duc City and coordinating with local and central agencies.

The implementation period is from January 25, 2021, until further notice from the competent authority regarding the organizational structure of the Thu Duc City Tax Department.
